CONWAY - Participants in the 2008 Arkansas Governor's School will visit with the governor in Young Arkansans Ask: Governor Mike Beebe, airing at 8 p.m. Thursday on the Arkansas Educational Television Network.

Beebe will ask questions on various government issues relating to Arkansas. Steve Barnes will serve as moderator.

The Arkansas Governor's School is held each year at Hendrix College. It is a six-week summer residential program for the state's gifted and talented students who are upcoming high school seniors. The program is funded by the Arkansas State Legislature as a portion of the biennial appropriation for Gifted and Talented Programs through the state Department of Education.

Arkansas Governor's School provides students with an intellectual atmosphere impossible to sustain in ordinary academic settings. Students are selected on the basis of their special aptitudes in one of eight fields - choral music, drama, English/language arts, instrumental music, mathematics, natural science, social science or visual arts.
