Des Arc mobile home fire kills boy, 7

DES ARC — Authorities say a 7-year-old boy from Des Arc is dead after a fire at his family's mobile home.

Jason Fox, the boy's father, told Little Rock television station KLRT that he awoke just after midnight Tuesday as smoke and heat filled his home. Fox says he was able to grab his wife Amanda and his 9-year-old daughter Stacy.

Harley Fox, his son, was pronounced dead at the scene of the fire.

Stacy Fox remains in serious condition at Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Investigators say the fire started in the living room, though they don't know what caused it.
