Juneteenth events seen taking hold across state

Three years after Arkansas legislators made June 19 a state memorial day to honor the freeing of 200,000 slaves in Texas 143 years ago, the popularity of celebrations marking the day is increasing, the state Juneteenth promoter said Friday.
