NLR Arts Scene is closing Sunday

— North Little Rock's Arts Scene, an extensive gallery and art market at the corner of Maple Street and Broadway, will close its doors for good Sunday.

The final exhibit is "Loose Ends," a display by students and faculty from the University of Central Arkansas. The aim of the display is to explore the boundaries between various disciplines and to take a fresh look at traditional materials and practices. There will be sculpture as well as two-dimensional work.

The opening reception for "Loose Ends" is 6 to 8 p.m. today. The show will be on view from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. All of the work is for sale. Call (501) 372-2130.

In a news release Arts Scene director John Rodgers noted that the Arts Scene is "a place whose time has not yet come" and that he "will continue to organize periodic art events in support of the artists under the name the Arts Scene."
