BATESVILLE - The Batesville Area Arts Council will provide an oil painting workshop from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 31.
Cathy Demko will teach the class, which will include excursions into downtown Batesville. Participants will learn to simplify compositions, find focal points and use values, color, harmony and texture. The workshop isopen to beginners through advanced painters, but beginners should have completed six paintings in any medium.
The workshop costs $50. There will be additional fees for supplies.
Demko has taught workshops in Vermont, Arizona and Florida and has won many national awards.
