NCAA TENNIS: Arkansas' run ends in quarters

TULSA - Arkansas' postseason run came to an end Saturday as No. 7 UCLA defeated the No. 17 Lady Razorbacks 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the NCAA Tournament.

UCLA advanced to the Final Four for the second consecutive season.

UCLA (22-5) won the doubles point, and the Lady Razorbacks (18-10) never seemed to recover. No. 56 Stephanie Wetmore and Elizabeth Lumpkin defeated Maryori Franco 8-3, and No. 1 Riza Zalameda and Tracy Lin slipped past No. 23 Aurelija Miseviciute and Ela Kaluder 8-4.

"The biggest difference today was we lost the doubles point," Arkansas Coach Michael Hegarty said. "It has been such a boost for us all season, and it really knocked us back a bit today."

Lin, ranked No. 30 in singles, defeated Kaluder to give UCLA a 2-0 lead. No. 42 Yasmin Schnack followed suit by defeating Anouk Tigu, setting up for No. 54 Andrea Remynse's victory over Airapetian that clinched it for UCLA, with three matches still in progress.

Miseviciute and Kaluder' seasons will continue Wednesday at the NCAA Singles and Doubles Championships.
