Thirty-three graduate from county leadership class

CABOT - Lonoke County Leadership Training recently held graduation services for its 2008 class at Lonoke Primary school.

The 33 graduates completed seven sessions designed to establish, train and promote a regional network of strong community leaders. Jeff Hankins, president and publisher of Arkansas Business Publishing Group in Little Rock, challenged the graduating class during his keynote speech to continue moving forward. Diplomas were also presented to each participant during the dinner ceremony.

Kyle Proctor was steering committee chairman for the 2008 Lonoke County Leadership Training program and a graduate of the leadership 2007 class.

"We wanted to build upon already great programs from the previous years, and I think we can safely say that we did that," Proctor said.

"When you have an amazing steering committee, willing community leaders and supportive local chambers, cooperative extensions and businesses, you can't help but feel a positive connection with the program. Our motto is 'Building LeadershipExcellence for Lonoke County.' The class of 2008 clearly affirms that statement," Proctor said.

This was the third complete year for the program. Leadership Lonoke County Board Vice President and 2006 alumna Kelly Coughlin said the board isn't stopping anytime soon.

"Participants from the class of 2008 have already expressed interest in helping guide the program for 2009," Coughlin said.
