Arkansas' Barnett arrested, failed to pay speeding ticket

— Arkansas junior backup running back Brandon Barnett was arrested Tuesday and charged with contempt of court for failing to pay a prior speeding ticket, Fayetteville Police Lt. Mike Perryman said.

Barnett, 22, was pulled over on a routine traffic stop, and a check of his license showed he had a warrant for his arrest on an outstanding speeding ticket in Clarksville, Perryman said. Barnett, of Texarkana, was booked into Washington County Detention Center at 6:58 p.m. and was released on $285 bond at 8:24 p.m.

Arkansas Coach Bobby Petrino said through an athletic department spokesman that he was aware of Barnett's arrest.
