— A new magazine will debut in Arkansas this September, covering such diverse topics as haute cuisine and Italian vacations.

Arkansas Life, a product of the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette's promotion department, is designed to "appeal to the educated, affluent residents of Arkansas", according promotions director Crystal Thurman.

The monthly magazine will feature dining, arts, culture, travel, style, design, home and wellness articles, produced chiefly by promotions department staff.

In addition to drawing on the talent already within the niche publications division, Arkansas Life will feature the writing and photography from the best freelancers the state has to offer.

The magazine will be direct mailed to those in central Arkansas who have a home valued at more than $350,000 and outside of central Arkansas to those who have a home valued at more than $500,000.

Businesses interested in reaching this audience may contact Sloane Mares, Director of Niche Publications at (501) 244-4334. In addition, readers can subscribe for an introductory rate of $20 per year. The magazine also will be available through free-standing racks and at businesses throughout Arkansas.

This is the second niche publication to be launched by the Democrat-Gazette. Sync premiered in May of 2007.
