Bartlett leads Catholic to upset win

— Taylor Bartlett helped Little Rock Catholic topple No. 1.

Bartlett threw for 334 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for two TDs to lead the Rockets over Cabot on Friday night 35-28 - and become The Associated Press Arkansas High School Player of the Week.

The Panthers had been ranked No. 1 in the state by the AP.

Bartlett was 21-of-30. He credited his receivers - John Springer caught nine passes for 166 yards, and Garrett Uekman and Paul Drake also contributed.

"They all had a heck of a game," Bartlett told the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette. "They got open when they needed to. They came through when we needed them the most."

Other top performances from the week:

-Michael Dyer, Little Rock Christian, ran for 342 yards in a 38-22 win over Pulaski Robinson.

-Ashton Glaser, Springdale, threw for a touchdown and ran for four in a 55-27 win over Fayetteville.

-Mic! hael Tibbs, Rogers, ran for 203 yards and four touchdowns in a 49-14 win over Rogers Heritage.

-Tevin McElwee, Fort Smith Northside, had four sacks in a 21-7 win over Springdale Har-Ber.

-Spencer Keith, Pulaski Academy, threw for 329 yards and five touchdowns in a 41-7 win over Camden Fairview.

-Sammy Williams, Beebe, rushed for 284 yards and scored four touchdowns in a 40-13 win over North Pulaski.

-David Hope, North Little Rock, threw for 175 yards in an 18-10 win over Conway.

-Chris Rycraw, Bryant, rushed for 131 yards and two touchdowns in a 28-13 win over Van Buren.

-Deondre Johnson and Turrell Williams, Helena-West Helena. Johnson threw for three touchdowns and ran for two, and Williams ran for 226 yards and a touchdown in a 45-6 win over Forrest City.

-Jesse Grandy, Dollarway, returned fumbles 100 and 87 yards for touchdowns in a 28-15 win over Dumas.

-Grafton Harrell, Riverview, ran for 221 yards and three touchdowns a! nd threw for 120 yards in a 28-7 win over Rose Bud.

-Michael Gra y, Marked Tree, ran for 240 yards and two touchdowns in a 25-13 win over McCrory.

-Bryan Gause, Barton, ran for 212 yards and a touchdown in a 41-8 win over Little Rock Episcopal.

-Seth Keese, Harding Academy, went 11-for-11 for 205 yards and four touchdowns in a 45-6 win over England.

-Buzzy Ragland, Conway Christian, rushed for 255 yards and four touchdowns in a 57-34 win over Quitman.

-Clay Murphy, El Dorado, kicked a 51-yard field goal in a 22-20 win over Texarkana.

-David Church, Lake Hamilton, rushed for four touchdowns in a 56-21 win over Benton.

-Joey Hurst, Alma, ran for 149 yards in a 17-14 win over Morrilton.

-Anthony Phillips, Crossett, ran for 113 yards and scored three touchdowns in a 27-15 win over White Hall.

-Dezhe Willis, Hot Springs, threw for a touchdown and ran for two in a 21-13 win over Hope.

-Mitchell Scott, Hot Springs Lakeside, threw for 253 yards and five touchdowns in a 43-26 win over Magnolia.!

-Dylan Webb, Nashville, returned an interception for a touchdown and blocked a punt for a safety in a 57-14 win over Mena.

-Rollins Elam, Lonoke, threw for three touchdowns in a 35-6 win over Bald Knob.

-Dedrick Hampton, Warren, rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-13 win over Star City.

-Zach Boleware, Stuttgart, threw for a touchdown and ran for three in a 42-21 win over Heber Springs.

-Dexter Walker, Fordyce, rushed for three touchdowns in a 26-22 win over Lake Village.

-Jack Pruitt, Hamburg, returned a blocked punt for a touchdown in a 37-7 win over McGehee.

-Kamrawn Russell, Carlisle, ran for 185 yards and two touchdowns and also caught a TD pass in a 50-7 win over Clarendon.

-Seth Tripod, Greene County Tech, passed for five touchdowns and ran for one in a 45-20 victory over Wynne.

-Josh Woodruff, Blytheville, rushed for 111 yards and two touchdowns in a 43-6 win over Nettleton.

-Chris Villasenor, ! Siloam Springs, caught a 16-yard touchdown pass with 16.8 seconds rema ining for a 22-17 win over Vilonia.

-Carter Callahan, Jonesboro, threw for 250 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-13 win over Jacksonville.

-Martex Glass, Pine Bluff, rushed for 160 yards and three touchdowns in a 48-0 win over Watson Chapel.
