Pine Bluff's Johnson, Collins share weekly honors
ADVERSTISMENT
LITTLE ROCK Claude Johnson and Kelsey Collins were the biggest stars of Pine Bluff's victory over Lake Hamilton - but only because their team won.
Johnson went 18-of-22 for 366 yards and six touchdowns, and also ran for 134 yards and a touchdown to lead the Zebras over the Wolves 73-66. Collins returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and also scored on a pair of receptions. The two share The Associated Press Arkansas High School Player of the Week honors.
Each of Collins' return touchdowns covered 95 yards. He also caught four passes for 101 yards.
Johnson and Collins had to work hard to hold off Lake Hamilton. The Wolves' Phillip Butterfield threw for 525 yards and ran for three touchdowns. Lake Hamilton's Josh Proffit had 288 yards receiving, including four touchdowns.
