Senior centers to serve as cooling sites

BENTON - Central Arkansas Development Council Senior Activity Centers in Clark, Hot Spring, Montgomery, Pike and Saline counties will serve as cooling shelters during their regular business hours for anyone who needs a break from the heat.

In Clark County, the CADC Arkadelphia Senior Activity Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 1311 N. 10th St. For more information, contact Cindy Rhodes at (870) 246-9871. The CADC Gurdon Senior Activity Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 410 E. Main St. For more information, contact Royce Ann Barbaree at (870) 353-2095.

In Hot Spring County, the CADC Malvern Senior Activity Center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 1800 W. Moline St. For more information, contact Margaret Lawrence at (501)332-5374.

In Montgomer y Count y, the CADC Mount Ida Senior Activity Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 158 Senior Drive. For more information, contact Sue Ledbetter at (870) 867-2313.

In Pike County, the CADC Glenwood Senior Activity Center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Tuesday through Thursday at 229 Betty St. For more information, contact Ellen Childers at (870) 356-4212. The CADC Murfreesboro Senior Activity Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Friday at 120 E. Court, Suite A. For more information, contact Vicky Hutson at (870) 285-2312.

In Saline County, the CADC Benton Senior Activity Center is open from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at 210 Jefferson St. For more information, contact Sherry Parsons at (501) 315-0645. The CADC Bryant Senior Activity Center is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and Friday at 702 SW 4th St.
