LITTLE ROCK — Demi Lovato, a teenage singing sensation on The Disney Channel, is going on a summer tour that will bring her to Alltel Arena for a concert July 2.
David Archuleta, the runner-up on the seventh season of American Idol, will open the show at 7 p.m.
Tickets, $49.50 and $39.50, go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday at the arena box office;
all Ticketmaster outlets, by calling (800) 745-3000, or by going to the Web site ticket master.com.
The arena will also use its new "paperless ticket" procedure for up to 3,000 of its seats in an effort to fight scalpers. To use the procedure, people can buy the tickets with a credit card on the Web site or over the phone. Buyers will get an email that will tell them their order number, seat total and location. On the night of the concert, they can bring the credit card and a valid photo ID to the arena and go to the designated doors with any guests, and the credit card will be "swiped" for entry.
There will be a limit of eight tickets per patron.
