TONTITOWN City officials in Tontitown say Mayor Joe Edgmon isn't doing his job and his holding up projects that include funding to pay for cleaning up after an ice storm.
Edgmon and his attorney dispute the allegation and say he is performing his duties - but erring on the side of caution.
City recorder-treasurer Becky Alston says in an e-mail to City Attorney Mark Dossett that Edgmon is hindering approved projects from starting. And Dossett says Edgmon hasn't signed an application to the state for matching funds from the Federal Emergency Management Agency for ice storm cleanup.
Edgmon says the City Council is making him "jump through hoops." Edgmon has also sued the council after it reduced his spending cap to $1 and took his name off as a signatory on city checks.
