— Tuberville guest speaker at LR TD Club luncheon

Former Auburn and Ole Miss Coach Tommy Tuberville will be the guest speaker at today's Little Rock Touchdown Club kickoff luncheon at the Embassy Suites hotel in west Little Rock.

Tuberville, a Camden native who played at Southern Arkansas, was the Walter Camp and Paul Bryant Coach of the Year in 2004 after leading Auburn to a 13-0 season and its first SEC title in 15 years. He resigned as coach at Auburn in December 2008, following a 5-7 season, the Tigers' first losing season since 1999 when Tuberville was in his first season there after leaving Ole Miss.

Tuberville has a career record of 110-60, including 85-40 at Auburn, and is the only Auburn coach to beat rival Alabama six consecutive times. He led the Tigers to eight consecutive bowl games, including five New Year's Day bowls.

A buffet lunch will be from 11 a.m.-noon, with the program lasting from noon-1 p.m. Tickets are $15 for members and $25 for nonmembers. There is a $10 attendance fee for those who want to attend the meeting but do not eat lunch. Standard memberships are $50, and 50-Yard Line memberships, which guarantee priority seating and include photos with the guest speakers, are $250.

Embassy Suites is located at 11301 Financial Centre Parkway.
