Policy group gives Fayetteville schools an A

— The Arkansas Policy Foundation gave the Fayetteville School District an A grade during its recent evaluation of Arkansas school districts, making it one of nine schools in the state to receive the ranking.

The rankings were based on student performance on the Stanford Achievement Test, or SAT-10, during the 2007-2008 school year.

Fayetteville was ranked fourth out of the nine districts that had A grades for its reading and math scores on the test.

The districts ranked ahead of Fayetteville are Lake Hamilton, Bentonville and Pottsville.

A complete list of rankings is available on the foundation's Web site, www.arkansaspolicyfoundation.org.

On its Web site, the Arkansas Policy Foundation describes itself as "a nonpartisan, non-profit organization that analyzes the impact of public policy on Arkansas and makes recommendations."
