Authorities arrested a Conway woman Wednesday in the death of her 6-year-old son.
Shequena Marie Williams, 26, is charged with first degree murder in the death of Javari Washington, who died Aug. 17 after sustaining severe injuries.
Javari was transported to Arkansas Children's Hospital on Aug. 14, the same day Conway Police Department began investigating his injuries.
Javari had been the subject of two previous investigations by the state Department of Human Services.
In its database of child fatalities, the department noted that in the fatality case, it was alleged that Javari had been shaken and suffered cerebral edema, or swelling of the brain.
Williams was being held at he Faulkner County jail without bond.
