Russia, U.S. Discuss Joint Missile Monitoring Center in Moscow

— Russia and the U.S. may create a missile monitoring center to share information about unsanctioned launches and avoid accidents, said Nikolai Makarov, head of Russia's General Staff.

The center, which was first discussed in 2000, may be based in Moscow, Makarov told reporters in Ulan Bator, Mongolia. No timeline has been set, he said.

Russia and the U.S. are holding "more serious" talks on missile defense and strategic arms reduction as the governments seek to "build more trust," Makarov said.
