A Texas woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a minor after hospital personnel caught her disconnecting her malnourished baby's feeding tube, police say.

According to the Little Rock Police, Tonya Robinson, 27, of Wake Village, Texas, came under suspicion by personnel at Arkansas Children's Hospital after her 20-month-old son was admitted for "failure to thrive."

The son, Dakota, weighed 18 pounds upon admittance to the hospital and was beginning to gain weight with the feeding tube.

Dakota then began to lose weight, and according to police, the hospital staff witnessed Robinson on Tuesday night covering her son with a blanket and removing the feeding tube.

Robinson apparently had been putting the formula into the diaper, the nurses observed. She was being held without bond at the Northside detention facility.
