TEXAS LEAGUE: Travs use 20 hits to down Drillers

— Mark Trumbo homered and tripled and Wil Ortiz was 5 for 5 with 3 RBI as the Arkansas Travelers pounded Tulsa 16-7 in front of 4,028 at Drillers Stadium on Thursday night.

Arkansas had a season-high 20 hits and took advantage of four Tulsa errors to defeat the Drillers for the second time in three games. All nine of the Travelers' batters had at least one hit and scored one run. Six of those nine batters had at least two RBI.

Ortiz, Jay Caligiuri and Peter Bourjos each drove in three runs. All five of Ortiz's hits were singles. Bourjos added four hits - three singles and a double. Caligiuri had only one hit - a three-run home run in the ninth.

Arkansas starter Marco Albano (4-6) struck out nine in the first five innings. Albano had allowed only two singles throughthe first four innings, but he gave up five runs in the fifth inning, including back-to-back home runs to Daniel Carle and Daniel Mayora to lead off the inning.

Albano finished by allowing 8hits, 2 walks and 5 earned runs. Barrett Browning pitched two scoreless innings. Bryan Rembisz also pitched two innings, giving up a two-out, two-run home run to Mike Paulk in the ninth.

Tulsa starter Keith Weiser (8-14) lasted only three innings. He gave up 10 hits and walked one, but only three of the nine runs he allowed were earned.
