Colombian President Alvaro Uribe Has Swine Flu, Presidency Says

Colombian President Alvaro Uribe has swine flu, according to a prepared statement issued today.

He began feeling symptoms on Aug. 28, is now undergoing in in-house treatment, and the clinical evolution is 'satisfactory,' according to the statement.

Colombia has given a health advisory to presidents of UNASUR, a group of 12 South American countries, who came into contact with Uribe in the Aug. 28 summit in Argentina, according to the statement.

Uribe is the second Latin American president to come down with swine flu. Costa Rican President Oscar Arias was diagnosed earlier this month.
