— Police say girl, 17, stabbed housemate

A 17-year-old North Little Rock girl was being held without bond Saturday after police say she stabbed an 18-year-old man who lives in the same house, police reported.

About noon Saturday, North Little Rock Police arrived at 110 N. Clover St., to find Diontia Hughes on the ground bleeding from the head and neck.

Witnesses told officers that Shakayla Hughes stabbed the man and was still in the house. At that point, Shakayla Hughes"walked out the door with blood all over her yelling 'What now! You're not so tough now!' at the victim," a police report states.

It was unclear whether the two were related.

Police took the girl to the Rose City substation and ultimately to the Pulaski County Jail after Juvenile Prosecuting Attorney John Hout advised to charge her as an adult. Exact charges were unclear Saturday.

The victim was taken to UAMS Medical Center in Little Rock for treatment. Information on his condition was unavailable, but a spokesman for the hospital said late Saturday afternoon, that no Diontia Hughes was listed on the patient directory.
