WEDDINGS DR. CHRISTINA KAY HARDESTY DUSTIN LOGAN APPLEGATE

— The Cathedral of Saint Andrew was the setting at 7 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 22, for the marriage of Dr. Christina Kay Hardesty and Dustin Logan Applegate. The Rev. Matt Garrison and the Rev. Camille LeBron Powell of Second Presbyterian Church officiated.

Parents of the bride are Mr. and Mrs. Gary William Hardesty of Yerington, Nev. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Paul William Hardesty of Elk Grove, Calif., the late Mr. Hardesty, and Mr. and Mrs. Donald Prachar, also of Yerington.

The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Bruce Applegate of Springdale and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Applegate of Rogers and the late Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Wilson of Fort Smith.

A small arrangement of crimson gerbera daisies, flame orange calla lilies and golden freesia was placed in the chancel in honor of the couple's late grandparents. Music was by organist Phil Bordeleau and vocalist Ruth Hooper.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white vintage Mori Lee gown with a beaded lace bodice and straps. The A-line organza skirt extended from a ruched waistline to a cathedral-length train. Beaded lace also embellished the hem of the skirt. The cathedral-length veil had a piped edge and was scattered with rhinestones. She carried a bouquet of crimson and pomegranate-colored gerbera daisies, flame orange calla lilies and golden freesia, along with her late grandfather's wooden rosary.

Laura Hardesty of Las Vegas, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Anne Mitchell of Ely, Cambridgeshire, England; Michelle Anderson and Jeannine Hamilton, both of Conway; and Sarah Applegate of Fayetteville, sister of the bridegroom.

They wore black satin dresses in various styles, each tied at the waist with a satin sashin claret, espresso, golden or burnt orange. They carried orange, red and golden gerbera daisies.

Isabel Mitchell of Ely was flower girl.

Best man was Mike Rose of Little Rock. Serving as groomsmen were Craig Webster and Dustin Hartung, both of Little Rock, Ashley White of Fayetteville and Michael Hardesty of Yerington, brother of the bride.

Guests were seated by Caleb Williams and Trent Shipley, both of Little Rock.

A reception at the Junior League of Little Rock Building followed the ceremony. Guest tables alternated arrangements of gerbera daisies in stem vases and low flower arrangements surrounded with votive candles. The buffets held large urn arrangements of wedding flowers. Assisting were Kayla and Jaelyn Hamilton of Conway.

The bride graduated from Hendrix College in Conway with bachelor's degrees in biology and mathematics. She received the Albert M. Raymond Alpha Epsilon Delta Award, the Chairman's Scholarship and the Darrell Trotter Citizenship Award. She received her medical degree from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences College of Medicine. At UAMS she received the Caduceus Club Humanitarian Award, White Coat Award, College of Medicine Honors Award, the Dr. Morris Hughes Memorial Scholarship and the Dr. E.F. Ellis Award. She is chief resident of orthopedic surgery at UAMS.

The bridegroom is a cum laude graduate of the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville with a bachelor's degree in computer engineering. He received a master's degree in business administration from the university's Sam M. Walton College of Business, where he was a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. He is manager of business analytics at Verizon.

After a wedding trip to Saint Lucia, the couple will live in Little Rock.
