LITTLE ROCK — LITTLE ROCK RIVER TRAIL WEST Location:
The western segment of the River Trail begins at the southern ramp of the Big Dam Bridge on Rebsamen Park Road and extends just past the Interstate 430 bridge.
Length:
To the interstate bridge and back is 3.651 miles.
Main attractions:
This popular trail is 94.3 percent flat and paved.
The trail parallels the Arkansas River with scenic views all the way to Pinnacle Mountain.
Hazards:
There is not a lick of shade in the summer or anything to block the cruel, icy blasts of winter. Otherwise, you're in the clear.
Amenities: Parking and portable toilets.
Dog, bike, tyke friendly? Yes to all three. But this is a busy trail so, seriously, keep Fido on a leash if you care for him at all.
