Beebe announces 27 appointments

Gov. Mike Beebe announced the following appointments to boards and commissions:

Tonya Alexander, Marion, as a Special Associate Justice of the Arkansas Supreme Court for the case styled 09-738 Arkansas Judicial Discipline and Disability Commission v. Hon. William Proctor, Jr., Circuit Judge. Replaces Justice Imber, who has disqualified herself from the case.

Lawrence Berkley, Little Rock, to the Medical Ionizing Radiation Licensure Committee. Appointment expires July 14, 2012. Replaces Paul Dickson.

Marion Burton, Little Rock, reappointed to the Arkansas Department of Aeronautics Commission. Appointment expires November 9, 2014.

John Cain, Little Rock, reappointed to the Mosaic Templers of America Center for African-American Culture and Business Enterprise Advisory Board. Appointment expires October 31, 2013.

Thomas Flowers, Center Ridge, to the State Board of Career Education. Appointment expires June 30, 2016. Replaces Kathryn Scarsdale.

Dr. Scott Harter, Little Rock, to the Medical Ionizing Radiation Licensure Committee. Appointment expires July 14, 2012. Replaces Rudy Van Hemert.

Dr. Alice Hines, Conway, to the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Interest on Lawyers' Trust Account Foundation. Appointment expires September 30, 2014. Replaces Freeman McKindra.

Judge Cindy Thyer, Jonesboro, to the Arkansas Pygmalion Commission on Nontraditional Education. Appointment expires June 30, 2011. Replaces Judge Gary Isbell.

Dr. Maurice Traylor, Marion, to the Medical Ionizing Radiation Licensure Committee. Appointment expires July 14, 2012. Replaces Dr. Guy Tucker.

To the Arkansas Fire Protection Services Board:

Chief Chad Mosby, El Dorado. Replaces Roger Edwards.

Jim Tolewitzke, Brookland.

Bobby Davis, Batesville.

Chris Jones, Imboden.

Chief Stacey Caplener, Pleasant Plains.

These are reappointments unless otherwise noted, and expire October 14, 2012.

To the Task Force of Racial Profiling:

Reverend Eddie Cantu, Springdale.

John Colbert, Fayetteville.

Chief Carlos Corbin, Little Rock.

William Dawson, Greenwood.

Maricella Garcia, Little Rock.
