Not-guilty pleas to charges of participation in a bid-rigging scheme have been entered in federal court by two current and former North Little Rock aldermen.
Alderman Sam Baggett and former Alderman Cary Gaines entered the pleas Monday.
Baggett and Gaines face charges related to their dealings with George Wylie Thompson, a Cabot man named in a wide-ranging indictment that includes weapons charges in addition to the alleged bid-rigging scheme for North Little Rock public works projects.
Gaines resigned from the City Council in November, days after an initial indictment targeted Thompson.
