Unemployment in state drops to 7.4 percent

LITTLE ROCK The Arkansas unemployment rate fell two-tenths of a percentage point to 7.4 percent in November, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics said Friday.
The U.S. rate was 10 percent in November, also two-tenths of a percentage below the October rate.
“Arkansas experienced fewer layoffs in November, which contributed to the decline in our [unemployment] rate,” said Kimberly Friedman of the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services.
