— No one was injured when a small airplane made an emergency landing at Little Rock National Airport this afternoon.

T.J. Williams, manager of media and marketing for the airport, said the pilot alerted the facility to a problem with the plane's landing gear shortly before 2 p.m.

It landed at 2:11 p.m. with its wheels up.

Despite landing on its belly, the King Air plane suffered minimal damage, Williams said.

The pilot, Phillip Miller, was undergoing proficiency training with instructor Ed Morris, during the flight, Williams said. The aircraft is based in Searcy, Ark. and took off from there, Williams said.

She said Miller chose to land in Little Rock because the facility has mechanics and multiple runways. No other flights were affected by the landing.

The aircraft remained on the runway at 3:15 p.m. with fire crews still on scene.
