MUSIC SCENE: Wilkins, Couron to showcase CDs at LR venues

LITTLE ROCK Singer-songwriter Jonathan Wilkins will present his debut CD, Highway Robbery, in a show at 9 p.m. today at the White Water Tavern, West Seventh and Thayer streets, Little Rock.

Singer-songwriter Ryan Couron will host a CD release party tonight at Juanita's, 13th and Main streets, Little Rock.
Hwy 5 and Steele Jessup will open the show at 9 p.m.
Cover charge is $5 and the show is open to those age 18 and older.
Couron, who got his start as a cantor at his church after completing Gregorian chant classes at a Catholic seminary, met his co-writer, John C. McInnis of Drasco, when they worked together as teenage ranch hands. Couron recently recorded his album at Rainey Recording Studio in Drasco.
Saturday, Juanita's headliner will be Adam Hambrick, and the 9:30 p.m. show will open with sets by Myla Smith and Townsend Talbot.

DJ Icey will headline tonight's third installment of "The White Party," at The Revolution Room, 300 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock.
The show, the club's most successful electronic series, opens at 8 p.m. with DJs Jared Lawler, Ewell and Drew Linder.
Tickets are $15 and the show is open to those 18 and older.
Go-go dancers will be wearing Cupid's Lingerie and patrons are urged to wear all-white clothing.
The Dirty Dozen Brass Band returns to central Arkansas for a show at the Rev Room Saturday night, with The Fundamental Elements opening the show at 8:30.
Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 the day of the show, which is open to those 18 and older.

Cajun's Wharf will have a pair of new bands this weekend at the club, 2400 Cantrell Road, Little Rock.
Bushdog will play at 9:30 p.m. today.
