FAYETTEVILLE Don Tyson of Springdale-based Tyson Foods has been honored with a statue of a hog outside the John W. Tyson Poultry Science Building at the University of Arkansas, home of the Razorbacks.
The statue was gift from Paul Young III, who's the son of the late architect Paul Young Jr.
UA Chancellor G. David Gearhart says Thursday's dedication ceremony brought together two families - the Youngs and the Tysons - who have played a major role in the development of northwest Arkansas.
Paul Young Jr. helped design five Arkansas state parks, while Tyson Foods is the world's largest meat producer.
