BENTON The musical Hello, Dolly! opens on Thursday, July 9, at The Royal Theatre in downtown Benton.
Featuring the popular songs "Put On Your Sunday Clothes," "Before the Parade Passes By" and "Hello, Dolly!," the music and lyrics are by Jerry Herman, with the book by Michael Stewart. The story is based on the play The Matchmaker by Thornton Wilder.
The Royal Theatre production is co-produced by Pam Maisen and Selena Ellis; directed by Bob May; choreography by Krissa Rushing; music director is Dawne Carroll; sets are by Farrell McCoy; costumes are by Gayla McCoy; and lighting and sound are by Berry Beard.
The Royal Theatre cast includes Dahren White as Dolly Levi, Brian Williams as Horace, Justin Pike as Cornelius, Koty Mansfield as Barnaby, Sarah Etters as Minnie, Daphne Shoppach as Mrs. Molloy, Adam Maisen as Ambrose, and Emily Kirk as Ermengarde. The show also features Zack Baker, Michael Bartholmey, Haley Glymp, Lynda Hollenbeck, Karen Owings, Brian Roberson, Allen Wright and Debbie Wright.
Performances continue on Thursday, July 9, through Sunday, July 12, and Thursday, July 16, and Sunday, July 19. Shows will be at 7 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays and at 2 p.m. on Sundays. Tickets are $12 adults, $10 senior, $5 student and $8 for groups of 15 or more and can be reserved by calling (501) 315-LIVE (5483).
