All that the four teenage boys wanted to do, Little Rock police say, was rob the old man and scare him a little.

""Man, a million dollars for the bail," she said. "A million dollars. That means I got to put up $100,000. I can't raise that. I can't get that. What am I supposed to do?""

LET THEM STAY IN JAIL WHERE THEY BELONG, THE MILLION DOLLAR BOND SHOWS THE SERIOUSNESS OF THE CRIME, HOPEFULLY THEY WILL NEVER SEE THE FREE WORLD AGAIN...THIS IS A PRIME REASON WE NEED TO USE THE DEATH PENALTY MORE OFTEN, THE PUNISMENT SHOULD FIT THE CRIME, EYE FOR AN EYE

If there were ever a case that should require the death penalty this is it. Life in prison should not be an option. If this country does not agressively use the death penalty as a deterent, where will we be 20 years from now. The youth of today are looking for easy money without any thought as to who gets hurt and they know they will likely not be punished severely. Criminals in prison have more rights than those they hurt. The U.S. cannot build enough prisons to hold all the criminals.

I second your message, conservativearkansan!!!

I think it would be a good idea to force parents of this type to pay for their teen criminals' room and board.... Ms. Kendrick should stop worrying over the $100,000 bail and think about the cost these thugs are going to cost the State of Arkansas! None of these guys deserve to ever step foot outside again!

I wish somebody could "crack" Mr. Terry in the face a time or two to let him see how it feels. Instead, his criminal self, seeming to have more rights than the victim's family, will receive the protection that Mr. Clark so deserved.

These thugs should never see the light of day again. Too bad they're not in Texas or else they would get the death penalty, but even that is too good for these worthless pieces of scum, they would get 3 meals a day until their time to go to hell-way too long for poor Mr. Clark's family. I say bring back courthouse hangings-and let Mr. Clark's family be there. I hope their mothers, grandmothers & grandfathers are proud of them. I sincerely doubt there are fathers in the picture-but maybe they can join them in prison. I'm sure their attorney will blame this on an abused childhood, a poor childhood, no father, a disability, high on drugs, nothing to do in the Summer, or any other IGNORANT reason. May they all rot in hell.

Is she serious?? She must be in denial about the seriousness of this crime. The man BEGGED for his life, for crying out loud! These guys beat the man until he was down, bleeding and begging for his life, then they shot him in the head! How cold and calloused were these actions, deserving of the death penalty.

in these "boys" case I agree, we need to bring back the death penalty and reduce the ammount of appeals they can have. As it stands right now they'll die of old age before they're executed.I say bring back the court house hangings and require youthful first time offenders to watch their buddies die for crimes like this. And before anyone says "this is racial statement" it's not because the boys are black it's because they're just plain mean.

Hang 'em high. They should not even get the chance for bail. I sm sure they felt real tough when they beat an old man down and then capped him.

The stupidity is apparent. I never thought I was pro death penalty - but these teens are a waste of human space. Perhaps if a law were enacted where their parents had to answer for the crimes of underagers we might see a drop in the birth rate. I agree with the man who commented their fathers aren't in the picture. Of course not, the mothers can't get a check if the fathers are doing what good fathers do and raise their sons. I'm so glad they're being tried as adults. They would never amount to anything anyway. Let them be "the new blood" in prison. Then fry them.

I wish that they would publish a demographics chart by race each time there is a killing, rape or other bad crime. that chart should show percentage of race to total population and percent of crimes by race.
Then there would be no reason to not have a manditory execution! Life in jail at my expense is rape of another color.

How can the parents be held accountable when they are on welfare and cant or wont care for their spawn and limit their families

Parents can be held accountable. Since when did being on welfare make parents unaccountable? WHAT does welfare have to do with it?

We have no idea what life has bought these children. It's clear that they have not been made to understand how life really is. Many parents are too busy working to provide material things for children, when they really need to be teaching them the value and hardwork that is needed to provide those things. If these children had been taught how much things cost and how they are obtained along with basic life skills like banking and saving maybe they wouldn't have thought this elderly man would have money hid in his home. WHO KEEPS CASH at home anymore? That mother shouldn't even be trying to bail him out anyway...basically all of them even the shooter knew right from wrong. Thats why we have too many repeat offenders....someone is always bailing them out and giving them a break!!!!

I don't really care what life has brought these children. They knew what they were doing. Blame it on rap music, welfare whatever you have, bottom line is they did it and now they will pay with the rest of their lives or the end of their lives - i'm hoping for the latter. And their mothers are idiots living off the system i'm willing to bet on that one, getting more money for each of these monsters they breed and spit out. Should be the other way around- governement help with the first one if need be, but if you do it again , you're on your own, then lets see how many thugs these welfare mothers choose to breed.

So sad. Babygirl2, you hit the nail right on the head. Fathers do need to step up and, I must add, mothers need to stop enabling. My son has been in and out out of juvenile and prison his entire life because he would rather rob from others than work for "the man"! He would rather be told when to eat, sleep and s..t by "the man" than work for $5 hour! He's lucky he's still alive, but rest assured, he'll be hitting that revolving door again very soon. His father was in his life, but to no avail. His idea of a pleasing son was one that could drink and run women as well as he could. But I chose him, thus enabling him as well as our son. Bottom line, step up PARENTS and be PARENTS and not buddies, and embrace God and bring Him into your lives early on. It will make for a much better world.
