MOUNTAINBURG State highway officials say part of U.S. 71 in northwest Arkansas that was closed for repairs is reopened to the public.
The department shut down part of the highway near Mountainburg while contractors repaired flood damage.
The department says that traffic will use an unpaved area of the road with northbound and southbound traffic alternately sharing one lane.
The affected area is south of the entrance to Lake Fort Smith State Park.
