The Bountiful Arkansas Day event at the Winthrop Rockefeller Institute atop Petit Jean Mountain is designed to give the public an opportunity to taste and learn about produce grown in Arkansas, according to a story in Saturday's HomeStyle section.

Reconnecting consumers to where their food comes from connecting local growers to to local buyers has been called "the new organic".

The benefits are said to be better in taste, better for the environment, better for local economies and better for your health.

Farmers markets have been around for several decades and still attract huge crowds statewide, but new and innovative ways to market produce are also available.

Area farmers and educational organizations will be on hand to sell local produce and provide information about programs that are going on in the state.
