<em>Bruno</em> is a one-joke movie that falls short of <em>Borat</em>

Sacha Baron Cohen is back in theaters, this time as a a flamboyantly homosexual Austrian fashion correspondent in Bruno.

The problem with the movie Bruno opening Friday is Bruno himself, according to the review in Friday's MovieStyle section. Compared with Borat - and it's impossible to avoid the comparison - there simply isn't enough to the character to build an entire feature-length film around Bruno.

Both films spring from the brash and creative mind of British comic Sacha Baron Cohen. Borat, the bumbling journalist at the center of the 2006 smash Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan, provided a prism through which to explore people's prejudices, hypocrisies and foibles. Most important, for a comedy, the episodes they were usually funny.
