— The Los Angeles Angels announced Friday afternoon that Travelers outfielder Coby Smith is joining their triple-A affiliate in Salt Lake City. This comes as part of a series of moves made by the Angels including the placement of Los Angeles outfielders Torii Hunter and Vladimir Guerrero on the 15-day disabled list.

Smith, 29, leaves for SaltLake owning a .252 batting average, 3 home runs, 24 RBI and 30 stolen bases in 70 games with Arkansas.

Hunter was placed on the 15-day disabled list with an adductor strain in his side while Guerrero suffered a strained muscle behind his left knee and a hamstring strain on Tuesday during a game against the Texas Rangers.

Former Travs Brandon Wood and Bobby Wilson have been recalled to the Angels 25-man active roster from SaltLake necessitating Smith's call to triple-A.
