— The rock band Switchfoot will kick it into gear at Little Rock's Riverfest Amphitheatre at 6:30 p.m. Friday for the Sonic Music in the Park concert, as reported in Thursday's Arkansas Weekend section. The group will preview new songs from its seventh album, Hello Hurricane.

Also performing are Streamline, Super Chick, Kingsdown and Tyler Bass. Tickets in advance are $10 for the lawn, $15 for reserved seats and $20 for the general admission pit. Tickets on the day of the event increase by $5.

Quite a different musical experience can be had at 7 p.m. Saturday by attending "It's a Brand New Day!" presented by the Diamond State Chorus, the premier men's group of the Greater Little Rock Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. This annual a cappella harmony show will take place in the University Theater in the Center for the Performing Arts, at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
