RUSSELLVILLE Dr. William Hoefler, professor of agriculture, has been selected to serve as the dean of the Arkansas Tech University College of Applied Sciences.
Hoefler has served as interim dean of the Arkansas Tech School of Systems Science since July 2008. As of Wednesday, July 1, that academic division will be renamed the Arkansas Tech College of Applied Sciences and Hoefler will serve as its leader.
His appointment to the position was approved by the Arkansas Tech Board of Trustees during its May meeting.
"Following a nationwide search, I was pleased to recommend Dr. Hoefler as dean of the College of Applied Sciences," said Dr. John Watson, vice president for academic affairs. "His academic credentials and administrative experience make him an ideal candidate for the position. I applaud the job he has done as interim dean and look forward to his continued excellent service to our university."
Hoefler earned all three of his degrees - Bachelor of Science, Master of Science and doctor of philosophy from New Mexico State University.
