Arkansas' legislature has formally adjourned this year's session, facing an uncertain economy and questions about lottery-funded scholarships over the coming months.

The House and Senate gathered briefly Friday to formally end the 88-day session that they recessed last month. Members of both chambers gathered for less than three minutes before gaveling out and leaving the Capitol.

Unlike past years, lawmakers did not have any vetoes to override or technical corrections to make to bills. The Legislature will return in February for its first-ever fiscal session and lawmakers have said they hope during that session to set the amounts for scholarships funded by the state lottery.
