LOS ANGELES — "American Idol" judge Paula Abdul says Danny Gokey may be the deciding factor in the outcome of Fox TV's singing contest.
She says that with Gokey out of the contest, how his fans vote could decide whether Adam Lambert or Kris Allen is declared the winner Wednesday.
Abdul made her comments after Tuesday's performance show. Allen, of Conway, Ark., drew praise from the judges, but Lambert drew even more, making the Los Angeles theater actor look like the front-runner.
But the outcome is up to the audience. Last year, David Archuleta was the judges' favorite in the finale - but "American Idol" viewers rebelled and picked David Cook.
