Arkansas officials say more than a third of the $322 million federal stimulus money the state received this year has been spent.

A report released by the state’s recovery office on Tuesday said Arkansas has spent $112 million of the federal stimulus money it’s received so far this year. The state has been awarded $1.1 billion in stimulus dollars, the report says.

States were required last month to report how many jobs were created or saved by the $787 billion stimulus program. Arkansas reported that 2,633 jobs were created or saved by the program.

The state also reported that 160 miles of highway had either been built or repaired by stimulus dollars.
