The National Weather Service says a seventh tornado has been confirmed as having touched down during storms in Arkansas last week, this one in Scott and Logan counties in west Arkansas.

A news release Tuesday from the Weather Service said the tornado most recently confirmed from Thursday’s storms touched down east-northeast of Waldron in Scott County and followed an 8.2-mile path to southeast of Booneville in Logan County. The tornado was rated EF-1 on the 0-5 enhanced Fujita scale, with winds up to 110 mph.

The release said the tornado passed mostly through the Ouachita National Forest, downing thousands of trees and destroying a couple of barns and outbuildings.

Earlier this week, the Weather Service confirmed six tornadoes Thursday in south Arkansas and the state’s central section.
