— A man was shot by members of the SWAT team during a search in a Little Rock home Tuesday night.

According to Lt. Terry Hastings, officers were conducting a search and seizure for drugs at 9001 Tanya Drive, Apartment B, in Little Rock just before midnight Tuesday. Hastings says that during the search, members of the SWAT team found Shawn Burton, 24, hiding in a back closet of the apartment. As Officers ordered Burton out of the closet, Burton exited the closet armed with a 9mm pistol directed it at the officers, Hastings said. An officer then fired several shots, striking Burton in the chest and arm area.

Burton was taken to Baptist Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

Officers discovered a half pound of marijuana and scales in the residence. An investigation is underway.
