— The National Park Community College Radiography Class of 2009 all successfully passed the American Registry for Radiologic Technologists examination on the first attempt. One of these 14 students obtained a 98 percent on the exam. The last time an entire radiography class at the college passed this exam on their first effort was in 1989.

The registry exam is a 200-question exam given at the end of the 24-month program. Successful completion of this exam allows radiography graduates to obtain state licensing, a requirement for employment as radiologic technologists.

The program director, Debra Wilson, acknowledged the contributions of the radiologists with Hot Springs Radiology Services and the radiologic technologists at the program’s clinical sites for their support and dedication to the students over the past two years.

Along with Wilson, the radiography program faculty includes Carla Kelley, clinical coordinator and Michelle Bobo, clinical instructor. For more information on the program, visit www.npcc.edu or contact Connie Poteet, program secretary, at (501) 760-4269.
