$1.4 million set for trails in state

The state Highway Commission says it will grant $1.428 million toward 25 projects that will develop recreational trails throughout Arkansas, including a $289,000 project for North Little Rock.

Applications were received for 58 programs. The money is being made available through federal funding for the Recreational Trails Program.

Other major projects include one worth $124,000 for the Arkansas Trail Blazers ATV Club, $116,000 for the city of Fayetteville and $66,000 each for the Arkansas Game & Fish Commission and Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia.
