Arkansas went into must-win mode Saturday, just like Coach Bobby Petrino wanted.

Spurred by Ryan Mallett’s precision passing in swirling winds and a revival of tight end D.J. Williams’ excellence in underneath routes, the Razorbacks thumped South Carolina 33-16 before 68,865 at Reynolds Razorback Stadium.

Needing two victories for bowl eligibility, Arkansas Coach Bobby Petrino intentionally tagged the game as a must-win affair on Monday.

“We wanted the pressure,” Petrino said. “I wanted to seea game where we had to win, prepare throughout the week correctly and then go out and perform. I really feel like we passed the test.”

The Razorbacks (5-4, 2-4 SEC) avenged a lackadaisical loss to the Gamecocks (6-4, 3-4) from last season ...

My congratulations to the Razorbacks for playing a complete game. They concentrated very well as the only one penalty indicates. Coach Petrino, why in the world did you call a fake punt from our own 23 yard line? That makes no sense at all to me!

we have the hogs back, is mallet the best qb the hogs have ever had? matt jones, ronnie south, bill montgomery,stoener, bull,are the competion. Hog fans can kick back and enjoy the performance of the hogs. now we need to beat troy.
