Holiday House hopes sales go through roof

Amber Barham has her fingers crossed and has faith that her hard work and that of her Holiday House volunteers will pay off.

Hopefully, to the tune of more than $260,000.

As chairman of Holiday House, the annual three-day Christmas shopping extravaganza that opens Thursday at the Statehouse Convention Center, Barham is responsible for the Junior League of Little Rock’s biggest fundraiser, which supports the organization’s community service programs.

“It does add pressure to my job,” she says. “This event supports wonderful programs for women and children such as Stuff the Bus, GROW [Girls Realizing Opportunity Within], Buckle Up and BeSafe, Nightingales at Arkansas Children’s Hospital and more. Holiday House makes it all possible.”
