Earnings at Wal-Mart $3.24 billion for quarter

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. reported third-quarter earnings Thursday that exceeded its forecast and Wall Street expectations, but the company predicted that sales would be flat compared with a year ago in the fourth quarter, which includes the Christmas shopping season.
