Inmate dies in apparent suicide

BRICKEYS — A state prisons spokesman says an inmate is dead after he apparently hung himself in his cell.
Dina Tyler says that guards found 42-year-old Kevin Blake late Thursday with a sheet wrapped around his neck in his single cell at the East Arkansas Regional Unit in Lee County.
Medical staff performed CPR, but Blake was pronounced dead before midnight.
Tyler says Blake was serving a six-year sentence out of Faulkner County for terroristic threatening. She says he would have been eligible for parole next October.
Tyler says Blake had given no indication that he was suicidal.
