The Walmart Foundation and the Walmart Legal Department have donated $100,000 to provide legal services to low-income people in four east Arkansas counties.

Walmart announced the donation Friday to Legal Aid of Arkansas and the Arkansas Access to Justice Commission.

Through the grant, Legal Aid of Arkansas will create a medical-legal partnership to help people get access to legal services in the clinical health-care setting.

Walmart says the program will be created in Lee, Monroe, Phillips and St. Francis counties, with the hope that it may one day be statewide.
